Update....!

Where do I start?!....We are currently back in midwest for a short time. I was so excited to be able to be with family (minus Megan and Sean) in Kansas City, Missouri last week!

After wrapping up our revival in Melville, La. On the 20th, we made the long journey toward the midwest (without our trailer) to meet my parents at Tyler and Heather's house in Kansas City.
We were able to catch the last night of PEAK in Tulsa and spend a few days with my husband's family too.

We had a very good visit with my parents last week and after a few days at our home base in Independence, we are going to make our way back to Louisiana and the deep south for a while (and our trailer..yay! Im missing my home!)

Im so sad to say that I have NOT been taking pictures like I should!! I will post the pictures I did take so far.

In other news, Emme is GROWING, GROWING AND GROWING..I can't keep up with her! Haha. She will be two in three and a half months and I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.

I do believe that her favorite words at this point are "Noooooooo!" and "Dooooooooggy"....among many others. She's been saying "amen" and "hallelujah" and loves to put her dress, shoes and bow on. When we take them off she gets mighty upset. We have been putting her up on "the big potty" trying to get her used to it and she loves it!

Unquenchable Fire Ministries

On july 2, of 2011, Rusty and I will have been evangelizing for one year!
It seems like only yesterday we started fulfilling God's call on our lives. I'm so proud of my husband for sacrificing soo very much to do this mighty work for God.
After evangelizing close to home in the midwest, starting with a revival that lasted several months in Oklahoma...a couple months in Missouri...Arkansas..and short time in Texas....we are now evangelizing in the state of Louisiana.
We are sooo excited to see what God is going to do here and wherever else he sends us! He is so good to us and has already done amazing things in the past year.
Please keep us in youtr prayers! I have only taken a few pictures from our longer revivals so far unfortunately....I am going to try to do better at updating!
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Louisiana!

Look out Louisiana....the Sorahs are coming at you!
We have arrived in the swampy state of Louisiana. We're currently in revival with the Hams in Melville, La.
I have been looking for an alligator since we arrived and STILL HAVEN'T SEEN ONE. Im a little disappointed, yet at the same time a little relieved! I have never seen an alligator out of a cage before and it seems so odd to me that they run around free here!
In other Sorah family news, Miss Emme is 18 months old now and is quite a busy toddler....she runs all over the place, skinning up her knees and gets into EVERYTHING!! She also has been talking up a storm and loves to eat.
She is cutting her eye teeth now and it has really left her feeling yucky (poor baby!)
Before we made the long journey to Louisiana, Heather and Tyler came to visit us at our home base in Independence, Ks.
We had an fun visit (we always do!) We are going to miss being so close to them. Here are a few random pics from the last couple weeks....

      Today is not only Cinco de Mayo.....it's our four year anniversary! I'll never forget the BEAUTIFUL day in Paradise, California when I said "I do" to the love of my life!
      God knew exactly what I needed when He sent Rustyn Sorah into my life! All the fasting and praying I did paid off...I found God's perfect will when I found Rusty.
      I'm so glad I have been able spend the last four years of my life with you Rusty and I can't wait see what's in store for us in the future! You are the best husband, friend, daddy, etc. that I could ever ask for. I love you bunches and bunches!

Let's get up to date here.....

            Busy, busy, busy.....that is how its been in my world since the beginning of April! In the midst of it all, Emme started taking her very first steps and I flew out to California to visit my family for easter.
           It was very exciting for Rusty and I when Emme decided to take a few steps on her own! She started taking a step here and a there and then a few...and by the time I got to California on the 18th of april, she finally took off. I think she found crawling much more convenient AND of course, MUCH FASTER! On april 21st, shortly after she took off walking, she turned 17 months old which would be 15 months adjusted age.
      My mom had knee surgery a few days after my arrival and recovered quickly with little pain. And because she had to be off her leg for a couple days, she was able to make Emme a gorgeous dress for easter and of course I made her a fully loaded easter basket! On easter sunday, Emme was very fussy and NOT her happy little self......I knew she wasn't feeling good and I presumed that she had an ear infection, poor thing! My presumption proved to be accurate when she was checked by the doc. She was prescribed antibiotics and by the next day I could tell that she was feeling much better.
           I was so glad that we were able to make a quick visit to see my grandpa Floyd and a few aunts, uncles and cousins in Bakersfield and Fresno too. Most of them hadn't seen Miss Emme since March of 2010 so it was a nice visit!
           In other news...... on may 5th ( cinco de mayo!) Rusty and I will have been married for a whopping FOUR years....and I will still be in California! We are going to celebrate when Emme and I get home get home, which will be the 10th of may.
          I am posting some pictures from my trip so far, I'm sure that there will be more to come because I haven't left just yet....

The bestest of friends!

Jeeeeeeebus....hahah (inside joke)! Last weekend I was able to see one of my best friends, Lindsy Weidner at her cousin Sheramy Gregg (now Horton) 's wedding.
Lindsy, Sheramy and I go way back! I have some fun memories with them both.
Lindsy and I have kept in touch over the years, but haven't had the chance to see each other since my wedding, which was almost four years ago. Needless to say, we were very excited about this happy reunion!
We had a great time laughing, eating cake, and just catching up on life. Im so thankful for good friends, especially Lyn!
I had so much fun hanging out with you this weekend Lyn and im so glad we got to meet up. You will always be my buddy! Love ya much!

Our visit to Uncle Ty and Tante Heather's house in KC

About two weeks ago Rusty, Emme and I loaded the truck up and headed to Kansas City to see uncle Ty and tante Heather and preach for their pastor, Bro. Calvert.

We had a wonderful time and got to stay for almost two weeks! Heather and I spent some much needed "sister time" together and she was very happy to get some tante time in with Emme. We laughed and talked, ate, played tennis at the park, shopped, went to Bucca Di Beppo, cooked, etc.

One day we went to lunch and shopped with Heather's way cool mother-in-law, Sis. Debi Domerese.

Emme had so much fun with Heather's dog, Lacy.....she kept her well fed by slipping her food here and there (much to my dismay.)

It was sooooo much fun and we already miss them mucho and hope to see them again soon!

Now if I could just manage a trip to Cali to see the REST my family.......!

Could it be....could it REALLY be!?!? I have been impatiently awaiting this for quite some time.....Emme FINALLY has a little hair! I have been lotioning it up and combing it, well as much as you can comb centimeter long hair...haha. I cannot wait to be able to fix it up. It looks like it is going to be a dark blond and I'm wondering if it will curly like mine. Hopefully I found out SOON!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone...from our family to yours. I hope you all had a wonderful one! We celebrated by eating a nice lunch at Ruby Tuesday's in Waynesville, Mo. My husband was very sweet and bought me pretty red roses and a wonderfully cozy, fluffy, and simply heavenly red robe that I LOVE! Emme got a very cute stuffed animal and a balloon from mommy and daddy....and of course the balloon seems to be her favorite so far.
I'm so thankful for my handsome, sweet, loving, etc. husband that God has blessed me with. He knew just what I needed when He put Rustyn Sorah in my life. Like the song says, "When God unfolds the rose, He always gets it right..." and He did. It took a lonnnng time and it seemed painful at times, but God had a plan and His will is perfect.

After months of neglect, I have decided to pay attention to my blog and be more diligent at updating it. It seems like my life has been a whirl wind lately! So much has changed in my little world and I feel like I am finally settling into our new way of life. Emme will be 15 months on february 21st (13 months adjusted age), and is keeping me on the run.

She has two of her bottom teeth in and is currently cutting one on top. She loves to wave her hand around and "worship", clap..and bounce to music. She is getting braver and braver when it comes to walking and standing alone. She loves to point her finger at things and jabber away. She also loves to copy things that Rusty and I do, it's so cute! We are currently in revival in Waynesville, Missouri at Bro. and Sis. Smith's church and Bro. Smith decided to teach her to stick out her tongue and growl at people. It is absolutely HILARIOUS.

The other day, I was busy cleaning up in the trailer and I noticed that Emme had crawled up stairs and was being very quiet. I peeked up the stairs and noticed that the shower door was standing open... I stook my head in and much to my surprise I saw little miss Emme in her pink and brown polka dot jammies sitting at the bottom of the shower eating a bar of soap!
Lately, she has been displaying quite an attitude when she is reprimanded. Her shrill yell and clenching of the fists has got to go....!

Eating is quite a joy to Emme (much like her mother). She seems to eat all day and she loves MEAT! Potatoes and carrots are also a favorite of hers. I can get her to eat just about anything though, which is nice (As long as it is not soap! haha).

I really don't know what we did without her in our lives. She is such a joy and our hearts cannot hold all the love we have for her! She is our little God given miracle and I thank God every day for sending her to us. I am anxious to have many more......but not TOO anxious, hhaha!

           A little over a year ago, on november 17th of 2009 around ten in the morning, I went for my 7 month check-up during my prenancy feeling great. The nurse started the check up procedure by taking my blood pressure and it was extremely high.... when it kept steadily rising, I was life flighted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks. where I was pumped with magnesium sulphate through an IV and then blood pressure pills after that for a couple of days until the doctors got it under control. On the fourth day, my blood pressure started creeping up again and on november 21st, I delivered two and half pound Emelia Paige Sorah into this world two months early.
        She spent five weeks in the hospital before we were able to bring her home......then six weeks indoors until we could finally show off our new baby girl! She then got RSV and we were sent back to the hospital after being home for over a month. I can't believe it has been a year since her birth... her adjusted age is 10 months. It is hard to tell by looking at her now that she was a preemie! Beside the fact that she is small, she is completely healthy and has no health issues. God is soo soo good and I thank Him daily for keeping his hand on her.
      She crawls all over the place and pulls her self up to standing position. She also walks along the couch when she wants to. She tries to copy everything we say and loves to clap her hands, bounce to music and make all kinds of different noises. We celebrated the actual day of her birthday at Bro. and Sis. Smith's house with a cake and gifts. We are currently in revival with them and they were so sweet to help make this day special! The day after her birthday, we flew to California to be with my family for thanksgiving. We threw Emme a big birthday bash at my mom's little cafe and bakery.....she loved every minute of it! We had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner at mom's shop as well. I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving! I will be posting pictures soon so stay tuned!

Well, it is finally official and the day has finally come....! The Sorah family will soon be evangelizing full-time. It has been a long time coming and God's timing couldn't have been better. We recently moved out of our little house (which seemed to shrink when Miss Emme arrived!) and are now staying with my husband's parents until we leave. Please keep us in your prayers!

On friday, march 5th of 2010 at approximately 5:00 am, my grandmother Patricia Floyd passed away. She had been suffering from a disease known as Lou Gehrig's disease for 6 months, starting with a few stumbles here and there... not being able to walk..to not being able to talk. I am very sad to see her go....she just celebrated her 65th birthday on january 12th of 2010 and recently became a great grandmother to Emme, who she didn't get the chance to meet. You will be missed by SO MANY grandma and I'm soo very sad that you will not be a part of Emme's life. You were a wonderful grandma, and I love you very much and I have wonderful memories of you in my life.

Emme update!!

Welllll.......Where do I start?!! Emme is getting soo soo big and a new roll forms on a different part of her body every day it seems! Her last doctors visit was in february and she weighed about 5 pounds...I am pretty sure she is about 6 and a half pounds now. So much has happened in the pst two months...I will try to replay the events!
Shortly before her doctors visit in january, she developed a little cough that had me slightly worried because premature babies have a very weak immune system and cannot not ward off viruses, which in Emme's case, could be fatal. Her doctor told me to keep a close eye on her and come in right away if her symptoms worsened or if she developed a fever....when she started vomiting up just about all 2 and a half ounces of her bottle, her cough sarted sounding thick with mucus and there was a rattle in chest when she breathed, Rusty and I started to panic and took her to the doctor right away. She tested positive for RSV and after being home for only about a month, had to be rushed by ambulance to The Children's Hospital of Saint Francis in Tulsa.
She was in the hospital for five days....she was on oxygen, had to be suctioned out a couple times a day and given several breathing treatments. Rusty and I were just devastated when all this happened!! I cried in the doctor's office as soon as we found out she was sick. As parents, we felt like we failed somehow. After the MANY long days of being house bound (6 weeks) and washing our hands until they were as dry as sand paper trying to avoid RSV and other germs that would make our baby sick, it was inevitable. We want to thank the Baglins, the Greggs, the Tauntans, Chris, Tip, and Ben Dykes for coming to visit us in the hospital...and thank you Shanna for the OUT OF THIS WORLD CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!!
On a lighter note...Emme is now receiving psynagis shots to prevent RSV until the season for it is over. These shots strengthen her premature lungs and prevent RSV. She is just as healthy as ever and she went to church for the first time (and out of the house for other than a doctor's appointment of hospital stay..!) on sunday, february 7th! She wore the doll dress that Mimi (my mother-in-the-law) made her. I also ordered her some doll shoes to wear with them.
We take her out to restaurants, she's been the to the grocery store once (I'm still hesitant to take her there because of all the scary germs there might be there...there are some GROSS people that frequent our Wal-mart!!) and she goes to every church service now. I just recently had to put away several of her preemie outfits (and the doll shoes as well!) and trade them for newborn and 0-3 months sizes! We took her to Tulsa on a shopping spree and bought some really cute dresses for her.
My parents (Nana and Papa), Heather, and Tyler (Tauntie Heather and Uncle Ty Ty) also got to come for two weeks in february to visit. I was soo nice and they really enjoyed Emme! It was very hard to see them go. There were many tears!
I have recently been making bows for Emme. It is sooooooooo fun! My sis-in-law Megan and I spent several hours creating bows...we have found a fun hobby! That pretty much wraps it up for now...Lyn: Ill try to do better at updating!! Haha!

Thank you all very much for your thoughts and prayers! I know they are working because Emme is doing great and is now breathing room air with just a little help! She hasn't "forgot" to breathe hardly at all like preemie's do. She is also trying to suck on her hand..and her IV, haha....which I'm told by all her sweet nurses, is a very good sign of maturity. They started giving her a tsp. of my milk through her feeding tube every three hours and since she tolerated it so well, they have increased the dosage to about one third of an ounce. One of our #1 goals is to fatten her up! Rusty and I have also been able to hold her "skin to skin" against our chest for an hour everyday. Keep praying! The doctors tell us to just plan on her staying in the hospital until my due date, which WAS January 27th of 2010, but I believe that with alot of prayer she will be home with us sooner! Thanks again, we are very greatful!

Miss Emme is here! Yesterday at 4:06 PM, my late birthday gift arrived! How exciting to share our birthdays so close, only 3 days after mine! Anyway, she is a floor below us in NICU, in a small mini bed without any kind of breathing aid! We thought she was so tiny until we looked around and saw all the other babies were in incubators and some even smaller than Emme. She moves quite a bit, we saw a teensy glimpse of her eyes for about 2 seconds but we can't tell what color they are yet. Rusty went to touch her hand with his finger (yes, she's that little!) to pray for her and she jerked it away with such spunk and attitude! We may have a sassy one on our hands! : ) We are waiting for the doctor to okay her numbers before she can move to a private room. On the way to the room Lisa will get to see Emme for the first time since the surgery. She's really excited! She just finished some, um, food, i guess and seems to be feeling much better than she was earlier today. Here are the 3 pics I took last night, when she was still on the ventilator. We will take more when we go again and post them soon!

Apple Dip

For a little while now, I have been on a green apple kick. I found this YUMMY apple dip that is very easy to whip up in less than five minutes and I thought I would share it with everyone....here it is, I am going to fix some now for a snack. It is sounding better and better!

*1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (it is easier to mix if cream cheese is room temperature)
*3 to 4 tbsp. brown sugar
*1 tsp. vanilla
Thoroughly mix all ingredients. If mixture seems too thick, add a dash of milk. Cut apples into slices. Dip and enjoy!

Sorry it's been SOOO long since I have posted! Alot has happened in the past month...I got to go back home to California for two weeks (it was soo nice!!) because my little sister Heather got married to Tyler Domerese. It's crazy to think that all of the Bolen girls are married and "all growed up!" I am VERY happy though because she now lives in in the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri, which happens to be only THREE hours away..............YAY! I now have a piece of my family close by. While I was visiting my family back home, my mom threw me a very nice baby shower. I got some VERY VERY cute little things for our baby girl. Thank you all for the gifts and thank you mom for all the time and energy you put out on the YUMMY soup and finger foods! They were so good!

Rusty turned 28 on October 25th and we headed up to Kansas City for Tyler and Heather's reception at her new church and celebrated Rusty's birthday at Macaroni Grill. He got a big flower AND got serenaded in an opera happy birthday song...how does HE rate??!!! Haha. Rusty and I have also FINALLY decided on our baby girl's name.... well, her first name that is. We are naming her Emelia and we are going to call her Emme for short. I am now in my third and last trimester of my pregnancy (7 months).

Everything is going great so far and I am growing steadily as we speak! I have finally had my first experience with swollen ankles and feet. And when I say swollen, I mean SWOLLEN. I am now realizing that I can't do as much as I normally do, long drives mean swollen feet, fast food isn't a good thing on trips, and if I don't drink my normal amount of water...it's swelling time! Emme kicks all the time and Rusty has been able to feel it as well as hear her heartbeat! He has already bought two CD's for her of cute kid songs...and we have adorable little dresses and shiny little shoes around our house as we impatiently await her arrival. Well, that's all for now....here are a few random pictures from this month.

Well, it's a girl! We now know what we are having....I have already bought two ADORABLE outfits and we have got a few cute things from friends and family. I can't wait to dress her all up like a little doll..with cute bows and headbands. Last week was the first time ever that I felt real "kicks"! It's sooo soo neat.

But today (september 22nd of 2009)....I felt a kick and actually SAW MY STOMACH MOVE! I was shocked to see it and very excited! I can tell that my little girl is gonna LOVE to eat like her momma because she sure gets excited and kicks up a storm every time I eat.... Well, that is the latest "baby news" and what is going on in our lives.

Blue... Pink......or.....YELLOW?

On Wednesday august 26th at 2:00 in the afternoon, Rusty and I walked from our house (which happens to be just across the street) to Mercy Hospital on a mission to find out the mystery of our baby's gender. I was required to have a "full" bladder for this ultrasound so while we walked I drank my water and while we checked in and waited...I drank my water....and drank and drank! We were finally going to be able to tell friends and family what expect. My friend Suni wanted to find out what we were having by the color of my husbands tie that night at church. A tie with blue in it if it was a boy, with pink if it was a girl, and yellow if it was still not known.

As Rusty and I sat in the waiting room anticipating this exciteing event, we were both nervous and happy to FINALLY find out this mystery. Do we buy pink frilly dresses and adorable headbands? Or blue and white little sailor outfits and tiny suits? Today was the day... or so we thought! When my name was finally called, we anxiously awaited the big news. As the ultrasound technician began checking all the baby's parts, we got to see it moving around and having quite a time in there! It was soo soo cute and funny to watch! We got to see adorable feet, a skeletal looking face, the top of it's head and arm...and a bunch more. The funniest part to Rusty and I was when the technician got a picture of it's legs all stretched out....she saw it and immediately said "Your baby has LONG legs!" All we could do was laugh because that DEFINITELY comes from daddy!

When the time came to find out the baby's gender, the technician asked me if I was as far long as I thought I was. She said that according to her measurements, I was only 17 weeks and 1 day (4 months and 1 week). The perfect time to tell is 18 weeks. She said that in some veiws she thought it looked like a boy and in others a little girl. Needless to say, we still don't know what to buy for and expect! Suni was very disappointed when she walked in and saw Rusty wearing yellow in his tie! (Even though he hid his tie from her forever just to be mean!) Im most likely going back in a week or so. Im still trying to make another appointment. So for now, the color is YELLOW still and the baby's gender remains an unsolved mystery.........and WE ARE GOING CRAZY!!

I apologize for not posting in such a LOONNG time! I guess I've been busy and it seems like I do most of my updating on facebook. Alot has happened since my last post. I am now exactly 4 months (16weeks) pregnant and have a due date of January 27th of 2010...Rusty and I have been to the doctor twice and we had our first ultrasound and heard the baby's heart beat on July 7th! Here is the picture of the baby, although it is hard to make out....it looks like a little snow man.

The head is on the left and the rear on the right. As soon as the picture came on the screen the baby was doing gymnastics like crazy!! All we saw was little legs and arms swinging and going crazy!! Rusty and I looked at each other VERY shocked because we were expecting a very calm little thing.....The doctor told us that we had a "dancing baby"! Haha, it was exciting! We also heard a very steady heart beat...it was amazing. This week the baby is the size of an avocado. I haven't felt it move yet, but that should come soon! On august 26th at 2 pm we get to find out if it's a boy of girl!! I will keep everyone posted on the news. Here are my two belly shots I've taken in the past two months.

Rusty and I decided when we were in engaged that after one and a half or two years of marriage we would probably be ready to have a baby. As most everyone knows, we just celebrated our 2 year anniversary on May 5th.

On Friday, May 29th, around 2:30 in the afternoon, I found out I was pregnant. I had been suspecting that I was so I took a test and as Rusty and I sat watching to see what the test results would be, there was anticipation in the air. We sat there quietly, waiting for the results...and as the very dark and BOLD (+) positive sign appeared, we looked at each other with eyes open wide and mouths agape! We both didn't really know exactly what to say so I broke the silence by saying, very LOUDLY.... "IT'S POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and after that we just laughed hysterically for quite awhile, ocassionally uttering the words, "WOW!" before making several calls and going out to eat at El Pueblitos to celebrate.

My family is excited....my mom and dad will finally be grandparents ( My dad has to wear a suit now too! Haha, this has been a joke in the family) and my sisters are finally aunties! Rusty's family is also very excited! This will be grand baby number two for them... We hope to have a boy, but we will be happy with a little girl.

I recently went to have a "real" test done at a clinic in town and found out that I am 6 weeks along, already a month and a half! They were so nice to give me my very first baby blanket and booties. Rusty and I are now making the decision of which doctor to choose.....I will have to make my first appointment soon!

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day with family and friends and, hopefully, a day off of work! We had a nice picnic at our church pavillion. Everyone brought their own meat and a side. For some odd reason, I just didn't feel like slaving away in my kitchen making potato salad, macaroni salad, or pasta salad...fruit salad, etc. so I just brought watermelon, grapes, and cantelope. It seemed to be a hit...I think only one other person brought fruit. When I think of a picnic, I just ALWAYS think of fruit. I guess that is because I LOVE fruit. After our picnic, some played a couple volleyball games (my husband was included in 'some' and he RIPPED his nice shirt-BIG TIME, IT'S BAD-while playing...I was kindof upset about that one. What kindof volleyball game did they play? Wow, a vicious one I guess!) while others played Dominoes and Mad Gab. It was really nice. It did rain a little but our church pavillion is covered, which makes it nice! I didn't even really take any pictures, unfortunately! I did get one picture of Albany peeking out of her play pen though. She is so cute and precious and I'm LOVIN this 'auntie business'! Anyways....happy Memeorial Day to all, hope you had fun!

Hmmm..where do I begin?

Well, I'm not sure where to start............ On May 6, 2009, Reverand Paul Blatto, my husband's uncle, passed from this life due to lung cancer. He is greatly missed by his wife and sons, as well as other relatives. I have heard from many that he was a wonderful man and won many souls to God as a young man in the service. Please say a prayer for his family, they will need it. Rusty and I, along with his family flew out to California on sunday may 9th for a week to be there with the family during this very sad time. Bro. Blatto's funeral was packed out and very sad.

Even though it was a sad occassion, Rusty and I were able to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary in Newport beach before we flew out of LA. Here are some pictures from our trip.....

My grandma let us stay at her house during the trip...she made us a very yummy breakfast every morning and let me use her nice car (and I accidentally put her keys in my purse and brought them home with me! Haha),thanks grandma, we appreciated it!

I visited my best friend Dana from forever ago. Unfortunately, I didn't get a pic of us together. I finally got to meet her twins, little Preston and Lexi. They are adorable!! Love ya Dana. And I missed you Lyn! Too bad we couldn't have had a reunion!

Balboa Island was really neat! It had a cottage atmosphere in a way and also had some REALLY neat shops. The houses on the island were SOO cute and quaint...

We ended up eating at Joe's Crabshack and the seafood was awesome. The atmosphere was pretty cool too, the waitresses would come out and dance to an old song every so many minutes with a disco ball...it was neat!

And of course, As soon as we flew into LA and when we flew out, we HAD to stop and get and In-N-Out burger. Oh we MISS it soooo much...I do believe that In-n-Out is the other love of my life!
Well, That's the short version of our trip to California. We had a great time, but we're both so glad to be home in Independence. Again, I ask that everyone please keep the Blatto family and their church in Lamont, Ca. in your prayers.

Sombreros and wedding anniversaries...

Today is cinco de mayo........ and it also happens to be our two year wedding anniversary! I can't believe how fast time has flown by.....you know the saying, 'time flies when you're having fun' (or Rusty's version is 'time's fun when you're having flies'. I guess that works too!). The past two years have been the best of my life. I can't remember what life was like without my sweet, handsome, precious,....etc. husband around to love and take care of me. There is never a dull moment around our house with Rusty around! I thank God that I found the one that He hand picked just for me. Someone to laugh and be silly with, cry with, brave the storms of life with, pray and fast with,....etc. Rusty you are my everything and I LOVE LOVE LOVE you bunches...I'll never forget those late night calls, how nervous I was the day you came to visit for the first time, and counting down the LONG days until we would see each other again. I'm so glad that on May 5th 2007 at 2:00pm, we vowed to be together forever. We've had FUN, so much fun, and some pretty goofy moments too, haha! I'm so excited about living life with you in the years to come and watching what God is going to unfold for us. I wouldn't be me without you by my side! And as far as I'm concerned......we'll be honeymooning until the day we die!

Ever had sushi? It's one of those things that you either love or hate. I happen to love it! I haven't tried all the different rolls, but the ones I've tried I have really liked. Awhile ago, in Oklahoma City, Rusty had his first "Sushi eperience" and he really liked it! He accidentally mistook the wasabi for avocado and took a giant bite...........he was freaking out because it was sooooooo hot and spicy! Haha, I felt sorry for him.... overall, he thought it was yummy and we had a great time.

Some time last year, my friend Suni House and I took a photography class at our town's community college. Ever since then, we have really been into photagraphy. We have done some maternity shots of a few of the many pregnant women in our church (we're all excited about so many babies!), and several others. A couple of weeks ago, Suni and I were talking and came up with an idea to take easter pictures of all the babies in our church. (She is such an excellent and telanted photagrapher!) My sister-in-law Megan has a WONDERFUL bay window in her house that is GREAT for pictures so we set the date and told all the moms to bring their babies for pictures. So yesterday we set up and started shooting...the practice was good for us and it was SOOO fun! Unfortunately, I don't have a good camera so Suni and I rotated the camera several times, meaning we don't know who took what so we could critique each other but, oh well! The pictures turned out soooo sooo cute and will be posted on our photagraphy blog soon.

I love monday and tuesday evenings! They are soooo nice for Rusty and I. There is absolutely NOTHING going on and we get to have a nice and early dinner together and just relax. Last night, I made hamburgers (one of Rusty's favorites!) and soon afterward we wanted something sweet.....Well, we decided to try and make a really good dessert similar to the Oreo Madness that T.G.I Fridays used to serve. We thought about how they made it and ended up trying our own version of it. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty good! Not very pretty to look at....but good! It ended up being a really funny (and messy) experience...... I guess you could say that it was just one more little memory we are making together.

God is moving in Independence Kansas...in a MIGHTY way! Last wednesday night, April 1st, my husband preached a message that turned our church upside down. He preached from the scripture in Judges that says 'there arose a generation that knew not God.' He had the elderly saints in our church sit on the front row and talked about 'the good old wholesome and innocent days' and the spirit of trevail and intense worship they experienced. He even went as far as having each one of them testify of experiencing such a move of God. He went on to talk about how, when are nation began, God was the center of attention. ( He definitely made a point there, oh how that has changed!)

After he preached about all this, he went on to talk about today's generation.....his own generation and how ashamed and sickened he was by it. He preached about all the sin and innocency and wholesomeness (if that's a word) that has been lost.....about teenage pregnancy, premarital sex, the lack of prayer, spirit of trevail and all night prayer meetings,etc.....His burden soon fell on us as a church and when the service was over, we prayed with such an intensity and fervency that I didn't know even existed. The spirit of trevail was all over that place. Several of us were 'drunk on the holyghost' and we ended up staying at the church, lost in prayer and trevailing, until almost MIDNIGHT! I have never experienced such a strong and powerful move of God like that!!

This Sunday, we were all so excited about church..more than ever. An expectancy, as well as a liberty in the holyghost was in the air. Our preservice prayer started at 6:30pm and was power-packed. Again, the spirit of trevail filled the house and we didn't even get to have church! God spoke to our church through tongues and interpretation......it was incredibly awesome. Our preservice prayer ended at 8:00pm.....it was unbelievable!....I'm expecting an intense move of God this coming wednesday...I can't wait! It's time for revival in Independence!

Well, the weary travelers are finally home...for the time being. This will be a long post because so much has happened! We had an UNBELIEVABLY awesome and very powerful youth revival in Ft. Stockton, Texas. God used my husband in a mighty way to speak to those young people and preach to them, getting right down on their level about "A Sign of Humility" and how God can use a humble soul, being "Dreamers" of revival and not letting that dream die, about being "Not Ashamed" to be a child of the king and holding our chins up high, and "Letting the devil know that we are not defeated..... These are just tiny portions of the awesome moving of the holyghost during this week long revival. I believe the young people of Ft. Stockton experienced a time of re-dedication, re-consecration, encouragement, excitement about soul winning and having revival, as well as a renewing of the holyghost. We had a wonderful time and thank God for the mighty work that He did. Thank you Bro. and Sis. Johnson for allowing us to come and for all your hospitality! We had a wonderful time and thank you for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. You have a wonderful church and an UNBELIEVABLE youth group! Our prayers are with you. Bro. Johnson is known for his AWESOME steaks and his very own BBQ sauce that he makes so we were thrilled when he wanted to make us some T-bones. I don't think I've EVER had a better steak! They also have a ranch with several cows on it that needed to be fed. I was very excited because I got to hand feed them... (even though it was FREEZING because a cold front swept into Ft. Stockton as soon as we got there!) They ate the feed right out of my hand... I couldn't believe it...It was quite an experience, let me tell you!I felt like a true "Texas Tumbleweed" haha. Here is a video clip that I just HAD to post.

On the LONG drive home we broke up the trip by spending the night in Oklahoma City at the Hyatt, which was very nice (thanks to priceine)! While we were in Olklahoma City, we stopped by the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. Wow, it was very emotional and overall an excellent memorial. In certain areas, there were watches, coffee mugs, key rings, adult's shoes, and the saddest of all, children's shoes and toys that were recovered from the rubble in display windows. One of the best parts of the memorial to me was the recording of the explosion heard from the building across the street. You feel as if you have been transported back to the day of the bombing! If you are ever in the area, I suggest you stop and see this memorial, it's very moving and will most likely bring tears to your eyes. Here are a few pictures.....

After only two days of being home, we packed up again and headed to California for my sister and Sean's wedding! It rained a little and was a little chilly for our outdoor pictures, but the wedding was beautiful and we had such a good time with friends and family. We ended up eating at In-N-Out Burger three times(It just got better each time too!) Rusty and I have come to the conclusion that life without In-N-Out is rough! Megan made a beautiful bride and everything went great. They went on a cruise to Mexico for their honeymoon and are now back home safe and sound. Here is a slideshow of the wedding and reception.

Spontaneous Vacation!

Well, it's another 'Spontaneous Vacation' for Rusty and I....Rusty has been invited to preach a youth revival in Texas on the 11th through the 15th of March so we will be on our way shortly! When given the option to fly or to drive we decided that we would like to go ahead and make the road trip because we really enjoy them. Today we got our atlas out and considered which highway to take where and when and where to stop and stay the night...we are excited! I was a little afraid that my boss wouldn't be very understanding (even though she always has been), but after explaining the situation...she said it was fine. As soon as we come home from this little journey on the 16th, we are going to turn around on the 19th and fly out to California for my sister's wedding ....wow. I am glad we are young and kidless at the moment because our lives are so BUSY! But busy or not........it's SO MUCH FUN and we are having the time of our lives.

While we were in Tulsa over the weekend, we had to make a stop at the Double Tree because I had to pick something up that I left a few weeks ago and my husband just HAD to ask to ladies working the front desk for a cookie... Haha He is CRAZY about them! It's really neat what they do....as soon as you check into your room, they pull out a couple nice and warm chocolate chip cookie from below the counter. Luckily, the ladies working the front desk understood my husband's Double Tree chocolate chip cookie addiction (I could see in their eyes that they had it too..) and started loading him up with them! So if you are a chocolate chip cookie kind of person......get a room at the Double Tree.

Well, Rusty loved the big cookie I made him and after a nice dinner date in Tulsa, some beautiful roses and balloons we ended up having a very nice Valentine's Day......Rusty, I love so so so much and I couldn't have asked for more. You are just what I've prayed for my whole life...... I know God handpicked you for me because you're just right. Thanks for taking such good care of me and loving me. I appreciate all the REALLLLLLY cold, even snowy mornings when you start my car for me in your robe (or in my pink one!) with your crazy hair,untied basketball shoes and all....and the times you help me vacuum, do the dishes, etc.....Your the sweetest!

Last night I got to watch my ADORABLE little niece for about an hour while my sister and brother-in-law worked in their new house they are building (they are pretty much in the last phase). Albany did SO good for me. We had some "bonding time" and it was fun! She is already 5 months and loves playing with her toys and giggling...especially at her uncle Rusty....she loves to watch people, it's so cute! Work It!

A couple days ago I bought a new excercise DVD and WOOO I did it and I'm feeling it big time!! It is the coolest workout and I'm SOOO excited about it.... It is called 5 Day Fit by Leslie Sansone. There are 5 different one mile walks you can do (Classic Walk, Sculpt Your Arms, Slim Your Legs and Back Side, Trim Your Tummy, and Speed Walk). For some reason I'm extremely motivated and I really enjoy it..! This Leslie lady makes me want to WORK IT! Ha, forget the treadmill at the gym, I'd rather walk a couple miles a day with Leslie right in my living room.

Youth A.L.I.V.E. Talent Show

Friday night our youth group put on an excellent talent show as a fundraiser for our Disney Land trip in June. We made quite a bit of a profit and we are now one third of the way to meeting our goal! We served lasagna before the show the show started, which worked out great. We had about ten acts and they were very good....Thanks youth A.L.I.V.E for all the time and energy you put into the talent show. I know that memorizing lines, dealing with stage fright, and serving a large crowd is a little stressful, but you all did AWESOME!

Nineteen Degrees.....Freezing rain??!!

Wow. It's. COLD. It's FREEZING.Literally!....I don't like this. Help! It started sprinkling ice cubes today...imagine that. When I got in my car to go home from work I had to wait FOREVER to defrost my windows because they were covered with a sheet of ice! I've been through this last winter, but I'm still not used to it, I'll NEVER be used to it. Even though it is miserably cold, ice particles are falling from heaven and you practically have to put on ice skates to walk on the sidewalks and streets....Rusty and I are nice and cozy in our little warm house and we're having a good ol' time!

My Birthday Weekend

Saturday, January 17th was my 24th birthday and my sweet husband decided to surprise me with a little get-a-way to Tulsa. He told me to pack up because we were leaving after I got off work on Friday around 1:30. He also told me that we had dinner reservations at 8:00 and would NOT tell me where those reservations were. We got to Tulsa and ate lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Chipotle and did a little shopping. Around 6:00 we headed to our room, which up until this point I had no clue where we were staying. It turned out to be the Double Tree in the Warren Place...VERY nice! We got ready for our "dinner date" and when we arrived at Tokyo Garden I was SOOOOO excited and surprised! It was one of those places where they cook your food right in front of you and at the same time put on a GREAT show! It was pure entertainment and delicious........

Saturday morning, Rusty gave me a really sweet card along with a really nice ceramic curling iron that he had bought (which was VERY needed...mine was getting pretty discusting looking!). We ate lunch at Fish Daddy's and it was a GREAT choice. Their mexican shrimp cocktail was delectible!!! (I even took a picture of it.... ) we had a great time. Thanks bebeh for such a fun time........you're the best and I love you more each day with all my heart.

Friday night we had a youth night hosted by my friend Suni (she is so cool and I looooove her kitchen!) and she outdid herself! She went all out and made it VERY fun. She made awesome chicken tacos, chips n' salsa, guacomole, and spanish rice. She even had christian mexican music playing, a pinata, a sombrero.......she had her house decorated SO cute! We all had a really good time...Thanks Guy and Suni! I know the young people appreciated every minute of it(even though several of them couldn't be there). Well.......here we are at the beginning of a new year and it's time for all those "New Year Resolutions". My resolution this year is to cut back on my calorie intake and EXCERCISE more. Since I've been an extremely happy married woman, I eat WAY too much and I don't excercise hardly AT ALL-and that is just a recipe for weight gain!! Also, my job involves alot of sitting so that does NOT help the situation. Monday I decided to start counting calories and my husband and I joined the gym. I've been doing very well with the calorie intake (I'm only consuming 1500 a day) and I've been hitting the treadmill as often as possible. For all you ladies out there trying to 'lose a few'...or alot, good luck and hang in there don't give in or up!!!....and for all you ladies who are not....think of me when you're reaching for that second helping.......

We recently had an evangelist preach a few services for us and he and his wife had the most ADORABLE little boys ever. Their oldest boy, Carlton grew quite attached to me (according to his mom) and begged me to read or tell him stories anytime I was with him. Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Rusty and I finally came home from our long and SNOWY vacation on thursday, which also happened to be Christmas day. We had a great time with friends and family, but we are glad to be home. It snowed in both northern California and Oregon the entire time. We were sick of snow, especially DRIVING in it!We were actually a little nervous about our flight..... With all the snow that Portland had (which they hadn't had that much in 30 years we were told) alot of flights were being canceled. Luckily, we made it to Tulsa just fine. The next day we loaded the young people up at 8:30 in the morning and hit the rode again to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. We all had a blast, but we are so glad to be settled back in our little home and not "on the go"!I put together a slideshow of all our pictures....Enjoy! Home for the Holidays

Rusty and I are flying out to California today! We are having an early Christmas with my family in Chico and on the 18th we are flying to Keizer, Oregon to visit with Rusty's relatives, the Hearns. We will be flying home on the Christmas day........which will be very strange for us, but it will be fun! We are both excited to take this two week vacation, we both need it. This is my first thanksgiving away from my immediate family (last year Rusty and I flew to California) so it's probably going to be a little different but I'm going to have a wonderful time and I'm so excited about the turkey, dressing....etc. Momma Sorah asked me to make the pumpkin pies so since Rusty had to go do some painting late last night I thought I would keep myself occupied by making my own pie crust and baking them while he was gone. They turned out beautiful and I hope they taste as beauiful as they look! Have a great Thanksgiving and make sure you all stuff yourselves FULL!

Finally Home!

I had a great time with family and friends! We were on the road alot it seemed and it seemed to fly by way too fast. The first few days were very relaxing.... I would take my time in the morning and then head up to my mom and grandma's ADORABLE sandwich shop where they fixed me an awesome lunch the first few days. I got to spend quality time with my grandma and also got one of my mom's unbelievable homemade meals for dinner one night. My family and I drove part of the way and spent the night in Bakersfield and the next day we got up and finally made it to Anahiem, California and met up with my dad's side of the family. Two days was the perfect amount of time to visit both parks. We had a GREAT time! On the way back we all drove down Sunset Blvd. through Hollywood to see the sights. I was so sad to leave my family. It seems like the goodbyes get harder and harder and more teary everytime! I had an AWESOME and HILARIOUS time with my sisters.....everyone else! I thought I'd post a few pictures.

I got stuck on my plane on the way back to Tulsa because a woman on my plane was having heart trouble. We had to land in Lubbock, Texas and couldn't get back in the air for hours, which meant I missed my connecting flight in Houston where my layover was (which happened to be the last flight out) to Tulsa. The airport in Lubbock was probably as big as my house. It had only 3 airlines in it and they could not get the 120 distressed passengers to their destinations that night so they had to put us all up in the Holiday Inn in Lubbock, Texas. They were able to fly me out the next day at 5:30 in the morning.....and I finally got to Tulsa where my husband had spent the night by himself because of the situation. It was a disaster and I was exhausted the next couple of days. I missed Rusty so much and was so glad to see him!

Today is the day....I fly out at 4:30 pm. Rusty and I will head to Tulsa around 11:30 am to eat and shop a little then head to the airport! I'm so excited to visit my family again...it's been almost a year and it's time to go back. Rusty and I are going to miss each other alot but I'm sure we will make it. Bye for now!

Fun weekend in Pea Ridge....

Saturday, Rusty and I headed to Pea Ridge, Arkansas to preach for some good friends of ours while they were out of town. It was a nice little get away for both of us and at the same time encouraging and fruitful. Rusty did an amazing job preaching and God moved in a mighty way. We were excited to see some new faces since our last visit many months ago! We did some shopping, and were able to see some of the beautiful state of Arkansas, which almost reminded me of 'Home' in Magalia, California. After church sunday, We were taken to a very GOOD family style restaurant that served only fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn and some REALLY GOOD home made bread. I ate my little heart out... haha I always do that though....nothing new! We had a great time and enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Here is an updated picture of our adorable little niece Albany Marie Sorah....she has grown so much. On October 2nd she turned one month old. Rusty and I love to hold her every chance we get, she is PRECIOUS!

Fall is Here!

Well, it is time for pumpkins, mums, scarecrows.........etc. This year I decided to do a little decorating for the season. I've never really thought much of fall and how pretty it is, but since I've moved to Independence I've noticed how beautiful this season is! I love the crisp air, the turning leaves, and our town's carnival called Neewollah (which is the word 'Halloween' spelled backward).

A magical place where dreams come true and one will never outgrow......
Ever since I was little, my grandparents would take all us grandkids to Disneyland every year. A few months ago my mom called and said my grandpa wanted to take us all in October. I was so excited and started looking at plane tickets right away. I am flying out on October 14th for a week....WITHOUT Rusty, I'm so sad because I'll miss him :0(. We are all staying for two days so we can visit both parks. It's been so long since I've seen my family and I'm thrilled to be able to go visit!

Tulsa State fair

Last night Rusty and I made the hour and half drive to Tulsa to do a little shopping for our house and go to the fair. We had a really good time on our little "date". After we shopped for awhile, we hit the fair. Everytime I think of the fair alot of things come to my mind. I love the smells, sounds and of course the food!....Huge corn dogs, pop corn, funnel cakes, etc. My all time favorite thing about the fair is the CARAMEL APPLES... with nuts. MMMMMMMMMM I got one and reallllllly enjoyed it. After a few hours at the fair we stopped by The CheeseCake Factory and got an appetizer. By the time we were done, we were to stuffed for cheese cake...maybe next time!

Rusty and I have lived in our cute little house since May of 07 and we just decided that we wanted to paint it. (Yes, I know you would think that since I married a painter our house would be painted right away....but, nope that's not the case. It's a matter of squeezing in the time because my husband is busy painting everyone ELSE'S houses and.. hotels and dorm rooms, etc. After all, he IS the BEST painter around! I'm biased I guess) So on Saturday (ALL DAY) we painted and painted. We picked our first color and painted the front to get an idea if we liked it and..we didn't like it at all! So we tried a different color and we still don't like it! Ha, it's pretty funny... looks like we'll be buying MORE paint.

This past weekend a group of us got together and had a really fun bonfire (I love bonfires in the fall!) We had hot dogs, s'mores.... the works. It was actually a shooting range and the guys talked me into shooting a gun....it was scary! as soon as I pulled the trigger I screamed. They said I had a good shot because I hit the same spot twice..... so I guess you could just call me Miss ANNIE OAKLEY!

Kansas City Here We Come!

Last weekend Rusty and I headed out to Kansas City to meet up with my sister Heather, who was visiting her boyfriend Tyler Domerese (Thanks to none other than ME!..I like to play matchmaker). We stayed at the Domerese's BEAUTIFUL home out in the country. on the way there, we drove through Olathe and stopped at one of our all time favorite places..Chipotle. YUM! We finally made it and I was so glad to see my sisterl....it's been awhile, 9 months...! I had the Ummm... WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE OF CRAWFISH at a Cajun restaurant called Jazz. The waitress put the plate/bowl in front of us and I just freaked out. I've never seen anything like it. Their eyes were black and beady, staring at me... those long antennas sticking out....Rusty noticed this behavior out of me and never ceased to torture me with them (this resulted in a few screams, which definitely drew attention to our table) and tried to sneak some home with us to torment me. We went to the Country Club Plaza (which happens to be my favorite place) to eat and shop then we spent some time at Union Station where we saw a really cool IMAX. Heather and I had a fun time wtih Tyler's horses, Sadi and Dakota.

Well in a few hours Rusty, Heidi, Megan and I are going to head to Tulsa and meet up with the rest of the Sorah bunch to be a part of P.E.A.K. I've been packing all morning it seems....and ironing... It is going to be fun are we are excited! When I get back I'll post some pics.

This weekend it rained and rained....and.....RAINED. There was also tons of thunder and lightening around here, which is scary here....I'm definitely not used to it yet! Saturday I made chocolate chip cookies and Rusty and I invited the young people over to hang out while it stormed outside. We all had a fun time...like we always do! Unfortunately, I forgot to get pictures of it all......
While the rain comes down outside, the floodgates of heaven are open in the church as well. Within the past month, four young people have recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost. It seemed like every service someone got the Holyghost......Two of them got baptized Sunday morning and Bible studies are being taught. We are excited and ready to work harder to get more here and let God fill them with the Holyghost.

Sunday was an awesome day. One of our sunday school kids who has been coming for awhile was very close to receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost! Everyone is excited and very thankful that the many seeds we have planted and watered so long are blossoming and growing. Rusty and I also had the opportunity to start having services at one of our town's main assissted living centers. We rounded up a good group from church to go with us to help and ended up having a great service. The elderly people really enjoyed it and are looking forward to next Sunday's service. Later that night, our evening service was great and God really moved..... like He always does!

This Saturday has been busy so far...but that is life in Independence, BUSY....! At 11:00 this morning I met Rachel (who, by the way is 6 months pregnant) at the church to help her make her famous spaghetti sauce for our spaghetti dinner after church tomorrow while Rusty helped frame his brother Marty's new house he's building. Rusty and I are now going to head over to our friend's (David and Stacie) new house to help them move.....after that we have a birthday party to go to at the church pavillion at 5..........After the party we will check on the Sunday school kids to see if they are coming tomorrow.................WOW! I feel like I never stop sometimes! But, like everyone always says..............we are young and able to go, go,go,go and GO.

My little vacation from work is going great... I'm enjoying every second of it! Thursday I was able to babysit little Gracelyn, she is 3 months old and soo cute, while her mom ran some errands.

Later on, I had Marty and Megan, my brother and sister-in-law over for chicken fajitas and rice.
This morning (EAARRRRLY!), my friend/cousin-in-law Rachel talked me into going with her to a few garage sales and I found a small book case, magazine rack, coffee table, and a big square picture frame to put around my clock for a good price and now all I have to do is paint them all glossy black to match my living room. She has been trying to get me to go (along with others....)for weeks now and I'm glad I finally went because I lucked out!

This weekend a couple of our Sunday school kids that had perfect attendance for 3 months were given a pizza party at Pizza Hut. They were so excited and had a blast as they bounced up and down in our backseats on the way there. We took them to the park afterward-where it was VERY hot and VERY humid-and they ran around like crazy....it must be nice to have such endless energy, especially with the weather they way it was!

Later that night, a group of us from church took the hour and a half drive to Tulsa to see an outdoor play called Discovery Land. There were tons of people there from all over, including a group from France....even Sweden(of all places!). It was very cute and we had alot of fun!

Today, Monday July 28th, is the first day of my two weeks off of work and I'm GLAD! I just listened to today's broadcast of Adventures in Odyssey while I did some stuff around my house. I've always loved Odyssey and always will...it's awesome! The website for Odyssey for those of you who don't know is http://www.whitsend.org/ They have a different broadcast everyday, it's great and I always look forward to it.

Sunday night was another awesome service..... Here is a picture of my buddy Stacie, her baby Elliott and me after church. Stacie and I seem to do everything together. We teach sunday school together, dress up like clowns and do sunday school outreach at the park together, (ha, we call ourselves Hokey and Pokey)shop together...the list goes on and on. Our husbands have been friends long before we came on the scene so we have no choice but to be buds! She is great...we both came from different states, churches, etc. to be with our hunny's.

This weekend the family celebrated Granny and Papa Hearn's 8oth birthdays. Family came from all over to Independence....the Blatto's from California...Herion's from Missouri....and Hearn's from Oregon. It was fun! Thursday some of us went to Silver Dollar City and saw the play "The Shepherd of the Hills"...it was a GREAT play! Saturday we the entire family got together for the birthday party. We all had a great time (and some late nights hanging out at Momma Sorah's house).

I also took an art class last winter. I was a little scared at first because I knew nothing beyond using a #2 pencil and binder paper. I just knew that I was able to draw to a degree. I learned SO MUCH in this class! The professor would set up a display or had another student model while each student set up their own easel at different angles around the room and drew what they saw . The class lasted 2 hours, but it FLEW by!The professor introduced me to something called collage art. Callage art takes an abstract angle on things. We used asia ink and were encouraged to use anything from strips of newspaper to papertowels to enhance our drawing. (the white strips portray light on the models back.) it was awesome and I'm glad I did it and the next class I take will be painting.

I took a photography class at Independence Community College last winter with Suni, a friend from church, and really enjoyed it. Our teacher was a little goofy, but it was a good experience. Suni and I did a wedding together in June to get some experience and I took this picture during the rehearsal. For some odd reason I just love this one! I like to photograph things and DETAILS rather than people it seems. I also stuck in a pic of the groom and his guys...BEFORE photo shop.

This fourth of July weekend Rusty preached a youth revival in Sheridan, Arkansas at Bro. Scott's church. We left Friday morning at 9 and got there around 4:30....we ended up having to write a CHECK for $1.25 to get on the Muskogee Turnpike....TWICE... haha, because we had no change or dollar bills....it was a long drive to say the least. Rusty did an OUTSTANDING job and God used him in a mighty way! (Like he ALWAYS does everywhere he preaches!) I didn't get very many pics while we were there, but I did manage to get one while he did saturday morning's devotion.We had a wonderful time and we really enjoyed spending time with the Scotts. We managed to stop and do some shopping on the way home monday- which is always fun and definitely seemed to break up the long drive.

On May 24th, my mom and sisters were able to fly out from California for a week. It was SO much fun! I took them downtown to all the unique local shops.... and all over the place. My mom made me some cute curtains for my little house and we had a good time cooking and shopping together. I was sad to see them go!

May 5th (Cinco e Mayo) was our one year anniversary. We celebrated in San Antonio, Texas at a place called the Riverwalk. It was absolutely GORGEOUS and very romantic. We also stopped in Dallas to shop, toured the Alamo and went to Sea World. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute of our 4 and a half day stay. I still can't believe its been a year already.....I guess the saying is true, time's fun when you're having flies!
